Tiny tussies can be made for boutonnieres, curtain tiebacks, napkin holders, hat adornments, or anything else your creative mind can come up with.

Place fresh flowers in water after completion or let dry. If choosing a dried flower tussie-mussie, make sure you use flowers and herbs that are conducive to drying naturally. After a few days, hang upside down for best drying results.

You can concentrate on a color blend such as shades of white and pink or use flowers and herbs that contain the message you want to send through their silent language. (See our language of flowers tea party game)

Note: Strip leaves off lower stems before beginning.

    1. Choose a larger flower for the center, such as a rose
    2. Around this center flower, add three stems of herbs/ leaves
    3. Repeat the second step, 1 to 3 more times, mixing the choice between herbs, leaves and flowers
    4. For the next few layers, add five stems, instead of three, for each time around.
    5. Firmly wrap the stems with florist tape or raffia. Rubber bands may also be used.
    6. If not placing in water, take ribbon (wider is better) and completely wrap stems from bottom, up.
    7. Tie lengths of ribbons around the top of the stems; make bows and knot the ends. (use pins to secure, if needed)
Note: A doily can be used as a "collar" before the ribbon is wrapped or for a natural finish, use the largest leaves for the last circle, such as lambs ear.
